    Halo

Yes, the power is still out **. So I came into work today to take a shower and do some needless net surfing. I found this on one of my regularly visited sites. This... my sirens song:

I've met and worked with Marty O'Donnell (composer of the orginal Halo score) on several projects leading up to the Halo 2 launch. I wonder if he's met these guys. They go by the name Corporeal. I should shoot him a mail...

PS - Do a google video search for corporeal and check out the "halo live" link. They bust into a funky mario bros song right in the middle of their set. I liked it. God I'm a nerd...

**Back on effective 12/23/2006 ~10pm. Thats damn near ten days without power.**

    Are you kidding me?

As I was driving to work the day before yesterday, the power clicked on. Intersections went blinky red, lights left on the night of the storm came on in houses and apartment complexes. It was a joyous time. People stopped their cars, got out and looked around. Men danced in the street. Mothers held their children and wept...

    No, not really.

But I did go home during lunch to shower and shave. After work I raced home to enjoy the sweet, sweet power that we'd gone so long without. Perhaps do some laundry. Start a load of dishes. I stepped through the front door and was greeted with a gentle warm breeze created by our furnace. The lights from our Christmas Ficus were twinkling away, casting playful shadows on my Chewbacca ornament. I clicked on a little C89.. oh yeah.. its time to dance.

You know how snoopy does his "spring dance"? It was much like that. Head flung back, arms wide open, legs pumping in a flash dance style fury. Joy.

Not a half hour after coming home did the power go out again. Its still out.

    No Power: Day 5

Its beginning to look a lot like Eastern Europe around our place. Broken down cars, stray dogs, broken windows. Dark, cold... the acrid scent of burning wood. Our nightly ritual of playing xbox, watching sports center and drinking beer have been replaced with sitting around the fireplace... drinking beer.

Its been an adventure. Hopefully the power will go back on soon. They (PSE) are saying that some regions may not have power restored until this weekend... or even Christmas. I took a shower at work today... first in four days. The sock situation is bleak. The underware <---(Canadian spelling) situation is worse. I'm beginning to look like George Michaels with my scrubby beard. Not the hip, awesome George Michaels of the early 90s... but a George Michaels that has been worked over by a bat and developed a mild case of scurvy.

    Now taking firewood donations.

PS - Speaking of firewood. I got tired of spending wads of cash for the pre-cut firewood and duraflame logs you get at Wal-Mart... so I jacked a pallet from behind a QFC and hacked it up with a framing hammer. Those babies burn hot.

    Update

Two words for you: Holy Crap.

Its been busy and its not slowing down. Here's whats been going down, bullet point style:

-Work: I've been staffed to a project that has very quickly snowballed into out of control proportions. 12 hour days are the norm. My running regiment has ceased and general health has gone to shit. I feel like greasy crap.

-Fun: Despite my retarded work schedule, I'm still finding ways to get the most out of my weekend. Sweet holiday house party at my friends condo in Seattle. Snowboarding at Stevens Pass (still sore, heh). Saw Panic! live at the EEC. We had our second annual Thanksgiving Part Deux... I love dinner parties. Shit what else... oh! Ran the Jingle Bell Dash 5k.

-Uh, oh: Scarlet has developed a clutch problem. Its pretty much rendered her undrivable (is that even a word?). Hopefully I can tow her to the shop soon... in the interim I'm driving my dads truck. The mighty White Ranger.
