Daddy has a new toy. The Tecra M5.

 

While not a computing powerhouse by any means, it is much faster than my old laptop and it came with some technologies that are new to me. The coolest by far: Biometric Authentication - aka - fingerprint scanner. After only a few days of using this, it was pointed out to us that our sysadmins don't yet recognize biometric authentication as a secure means of credential storage. Evidently the password schema they advise us to follow is more secure than our very own fingerprints.

 

I disagree.

 

Passwords can be cracked, hacked, guessed or socially engineered. Short of cutting off my fingers, a hacker would be hard pressed to gain access to a system that required my fingerprints to log in. Anyway, I'm probably wrong. The guys at MSIT aren't there to bake cookies...

Hate is a pretty strong emotion and it's a word that isn't often used in my vernacular. Especially when talking about a group of people. However, over the course of my tenure in the events field, I've developed a legitimate hatred for one particular class of individuals:

 

Teamsters.

 

From their slovenly appearance and ill-mannered speech to their inexcusably poor work ethic, teamsters have to be one of the lowest class of humans in existence today. The mere thought of having to work with (an impossible feat in and of itself) a teamster or union steward makes me want to vomit with rage. Over-paid thugs and derelicts with an inflated sense of self worth.. who cannot... will not positively contribute to the success of an event have NO PLACE in this industry. Or any industry for that matter.

I hate this town.
